You can’t visit Italy without a trip to the Amalfi Coast. It is a 50km stretch of coastline on the south eastern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula. It is an extremely popular holiday destination and is famous for its sheer cliffs, rugged coastline, small beaches and pastel coloured houses built in to the mountains.
These are our top 10 things to see and do on the Amalfi Coast.
10: Visit Sorrento and enjoy the views over to Pompeii
Sorrento is a gorgeous village facing the bay of Naples and has incredible views overlooking Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. It is definitely worth a visit on your way to or from the Amalfi Coast.
9: Praiano cliff walk to Africana club and restaurant
Praiano is a gorgeous little beach with an amazing coastal cliff walk through to the famous Africana club and restaurant. It is pretty to visit as the sun is setting and the candles are being lit at the surrounding restaurants.
8: Enjoy a nice dinner overlooking the coastline
A stay on the Amalfi Coast is not complete without a dinner with a view! It isn’t hard to find a venue that has an amazing view and even with some stormy clouds, it still made for an awesome experience!
7: Visit Amalfi Town
You can’t visit the Amalfi Coast, without visiting Amalfi town, right?! The town isn’t very big and you can walk through in no time, but it is worth a visit.
6: Villa Cimbrone Gardens, Ravello
Some of the most beautiful gardens we’ve seen, simply because not only are there gorgeous gardens, but the view is magnificent. You must stop here for a few hours – it’s amazing! The town of Ravello is also fantastic and a nice spot to stop and find somewhere local for lunch.
5: Borgo di Furore
We were lucky enough to visit just outside of peak season so the beach was deserted! The views are breathtaking – the trickiest part was finding a park on the side of the coastal road so we could hop down to the beach and check it out!
4: Taking the bus from Praiano to Positano, purely for the experience!
This is certainly an experience! A little nerve racking but exciting and interesting all at the same time! This short video tells the story! It’s a bit shaky, but you will get the gist!
3: Coastal Drive
It is one of the most picturesque drives you can do in Italy – and thankfully you need to drive slow because that way you can take in the beauty!
2: Day trip to Capri Island, stopping in at the Blue Grotto
Capri is a must do on your trip to the Amalfi Coast. You can pick up a day tour from Positano and it is magical.
1: Visit the most popular Positano beach and village
The most famous spot on the Amalfi Coast, Positano. The village itself is gorgeous and has lots of gorgeous shops and restaurants. You could easily spend all day here exploring.
